The immune system provides an important inbuilt defence mechanism to protect us from disease, bacteria, viruses, fungi, and toxins. Our immune system produces antibodies and regulates our white blood cells.  These cells are a critical part of the immune system.  White blood cells help to recognise the different bugs in our bodies and create an inbuilt defence mechanism to fight these.  Maintaining a strong immune system is vital to ensuring we stay well throughout the year and keep colds and flu at bay.
